January 31, 2015 - Anoka Winterfest – located at Greenhaven Golf Course in Anoka. 10:00am – 8:00pm, come enjoy a fine arts show, live music, food, wine and beer tasting, bonfires, s'mores and a cross-country ski race. January 31, 2015 – Wargo Nature Center SNOW DAY- A free family event devoted entirely to snow, winter, outdoor activities, and family fun! Dress for the weather. Outdoor activities include ice fishing, cross-country skiing, Norwegian kick sledding, snowshoeing.  Indoor activities include crafts, coloring sheets, & refreshments. February 28, 2015 - 2015 Polar Plunge- The Coon Rapids Police Department is teaming up with Special Olympics to participate in the 2015 Polar Bear Plunge.  Participants will jump into the frigid water of Crooked Lake and raise money for Special Olympics at the same time!  Come support the "Rapid Responders!!  Saturday, 1:00pm at Crooked Lake Park, 13180 Crooked Lake Blvd., NW, Coon Rapids.  To register, read more and/or to support the "plungers" go to and look for the Anoka County event. 

March 7, 2015 - Wedding Expo- The Coon Rapids Civic Center is pelased to presend the Wedding Expo!  The event will feature dozens of vendors including:  cake decorators, bartending services, wedding planners, photographers, videographers and more.  Find everything you need, in one place, to make your wedding day a special one!  Saturday, 10:00am - 2:00pm at the Coon Rapids Civic Center, 11155 Robinson Dr., Coon Rapids.  Tickets are $5.00 at the door.

May 30 & 31, 2015 - Disover Aviation Days - Come out to the Anoka County Airport in Blaine on May 30th & 31st to celebrate the many aspects of aviation.  7am - 4pm each day, enjoy numerous aviation exhibitors, aircraft & helicopter rides, food booths and more!  On display will be general and corporate aircraft, experimental and homebuilt, WWII fighters, trainers and bombers along with vintage and modern military.  Those interested in a career in aviation, can stop by the aviation education booths, see flying demonstrations, and kid's activities.  Meet our many veterans, see our military history display area. A Pancake Breakfast & Lunch to be served both days.
