June 30, 2015 - Summer in the City Neighborhood Meetings - Summer is hear and the "Summer in the City" neighborhood meetings are in full swing.  Council members and staff invite you to come out to one of the upcoming events at a park near you.  This annual series is a great opportunity to meet your council members and talk with City staff about projects going on in your neighborhood and through the city.  Join us Tuesday, June 30th at Prairie Oaks Park, 1455 127th Ave., Coon Rapids.  The event runs from 6:30pm - 8:00pm.  Presentation at 7:00pm.  Fire trucks, police cars, public works equipment and other displays from various city departments will also be at the events.

July 2 – 4, 2015 – Coon Rapids 4th Of July Celebration - Join the Independence Day celebration in a new location this year!   The Fourth of July Community Celebration is moving from Sand Creek Park to the grounds of the Coon Rapids Ice Center, located at 11000 Crooked Lake Boulevard. July 3, 2015 - Anoka Fireworks - The city will host its 18th annual fireworks display beginning at dusk.  The best viewing is from Castle Field (near Anoka High School at 4001 7th Ave.)

July 12, 2015 - Anoka Heritage Home and Garden Tour - The 12th Annual Anoka Heritage Home and Garden Tour, presented by the Anoka Heritage Preservation Commission and the Anoka County Historical Society.   It’s a summer tradition that community members look forward to each year – the Anoka Heritage Home and Garden Tour.The 12th Annual Tour will be exploring the Dunham Oaks Neighborhood! July 21-22, 2015 - Safety Camp -   Coon Rapids safety camp is an opportunity for Coon Rapids students entering 4th and 5th grades in the fall of 2015 to learn important safety skills including water, fire and electrical safety, basic first aid and to use 911A 40$ registration fee is required, which covers supplies a t-shirt, snacks and lunch, as well as transportation to and from the swimming pool.  Scholarships are available to children using the free and reduced lunch program.  Call 763-767-6429 for more information about scholarships.  A graduation ceremony will take place on July 22.To participate, you must fill out a registration form, which is available on the City website at www.coonrapidsmn.gov.  Click on Community Events, then Safety Camp.  For more information contact the Coon Rapids Fire Department at 763-767-6429 or email schapin@coonrapidsmn.gov. August 2, 2015 - Rockin' on the Rum at Riverfront Park! The Sunday, August 2nd Concert in the Park will be held at Riverfront Park. Music will begin at 7:00p.m. Riverfront Park is located behind Anoka City Hall. The concert will take place north of the dam in the open green space near the overlooks and rain garden. Swing and a Miss will perform from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. playing vintage sheet music published in the 1910s and 1920s -- hits from the Gay '90s, the Roaring '20s, and the golden age of the Swing Era. Boaters can drop anchor at the Port of Anoka dock and join us in the park for the show. August 14, 2015 – Coon Rapids Senior Center 40th Anniversary Celebration - The Super Senior Club formed in 1975 and started what is now known as the Coon Rapids Senior Center! Forty years later we are a vibrant hub of activity and fun! Join us as we do a little reminiscing and a lot of celebrating! The program begins at 1:30 with some short presentations, a slide show and some other fun! Then sit back and enjoy the music of the Riverside Swing Band, as you enjoy a root beer float. August 28, 2015 - Summer in the City Neighborhood Meetings - Summer is hear and the "Summer in the City" neighborhood meetings are in full swing.  Council members and staff invite you to come out to one of the upcoming events at a park near you.  This annual series is a great opportunity to meet your council members and talk with City staff about projects going on in your neighborhood and through the city.  Join us Tuesday, August 28th at Rierview Park, 2420 105th Avenue., Coon Rapids.  The event runs from 6:30pm - 8:00pm.  Presentation at 7:00pm.  Fire trucks, police cars, public works equipment and other displays from various city departments will also be at the events.
