June 22 - 24, 2018 – Push For Awareness - Please join us for the 6th annual Push for Awareness.  To raise awareness about depression we are going to longboard 150 miles from Duluth to Blaine Minnesota, from June 22-24th, 2018.  This event has been created out of love and hope for all those we have lost to suicide. Funds raised from this event will be donated to SAVE, a Minnesota (Bloomington) based organization.  On Sunday, June 24th, we welcome the longboarders back at Xylite Park in Blaine.  There will be lots of food and beverages available for all. Feel free to bring a food item to share and don't forget your lawn chair or blanket!  There will be plenty to do that will keep the kids busy!!  We are always in need of volunteers! Please consider giving a couple hours of your time whether it's helping during the planning stages (NOW) or the day we welcome our Longboarders back to Blaine!! June 24, 2018 - Blaine Festival Car Show for Invisible Wounds Project - Join the Invisible Wounds Project as they host the Blaine Festival Top 20 Car Show. Open to all vehicles, there will be music, food, cars and fun! June 27, 2018 - Third Annual ‘Share the River Nordeast’ - The Mississippi Watershed Management Organization invites community members to a family-friendly evening of cookies and canoeing on the Mississippi River on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  The third annual Share the River Nordeast event offers visitors the chance to take a free introductory canoe ride on the Mississippi River with experienced guides. Attendees can also enjoy a complimentary cookie from North Minneapolis nonprofit bakery Cookie Cart and tour indoor and outdoor exhibits at the MWMO’s Stormwater Park and Learning Center in Northeast Minneapolis.  Canoe trips will be led by National Park Service rangers and staff from the Mississippi Park Connection and Wilderness Inquiry. In addition to learning how to paddle on the river, participants will have opportunities to learn about the river’s history, water quality, plants, animals and more.  The event is open to kids and adults of all ages. June 30, 2018 - 13th Annual Patriot Ride - See thousands of motorcycles in one place at one time.  The Patriot Ride starts and ends at the LYNX FBO facility at the Anoka County Airport (north entrance), at 10188 Radisson Road NE, in Blaine.  The daylong event is for riders and non-riders to celebrate the contributions and sacrifices of U.S. military personnel and law enforcement, and will include food and beverages, live entertainment, military displays, a motorcycle raffle, motorcycle show and much more. All funds raised will benefit these non-profit organizations: Minnesota Patriot Guard, Minnesotans' Military Appreciation Fund (MMAF), Tribute to the Troops and Backing the Blue Line. June 30, 2018 – Bubble Run – Minneapolis - If you’ve done a traditional 5K, you know they can be a bit lackluster. But the BUBBLE RUN™ is like running through Willy Wonka's Factory. Clad in white t-shirts, adults, kids and strollers run, walk, dance and play across 3 miles of absolute fun! July 17 & 18, 2018 – Safety  Camp Coon Rapids - The Coon Rapids fire and police departments are teaming up to teach kids a variety of skills that will help them stay safe. Safety camp is a chance for Coon Rapids students entering 4th and 5th grades in the fall of 2018 to learn important safety skills including: water, fire and electrical safety, basic first aid and how to use 911.  A graduation ceremony will take place on July 18.  Scholarships are available to children using the free and reduced lunch program. For more information and to register, call 763-767-6429.  (price includes supplies, a t-shirt, snacks, lunch and transportation to and from the swimming pool).  Located at the Coon Rapids Ice Center & Recreation, 11000 Crook Lake Blvd.

August 10 – 12, 2018 – Irish Fair of Minnesota - Enjoy the culture of Ireland through music, dance, food and drink at the 39th annual Irish Fair of Minnesota! Great Irish music all weekend by dozens of local and international Irish acts including We Banjo 3Gaelic StormScreaming OrphansAltanDoolin’ and many many more. A dozen local Irish Dance schools will perform at our Performance Dance Tent! September 29, 2018 – B4K Legacy Ride - Bring your family! March 9. 2019 – North Suburban Home Improvement Show - The cities of Andover, Anoka, and Coon Rapids will be sponsoring the 21st annual North Suburban Home Improvement Show on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Andover YMCA Community Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Visit 100+ exhibitors specializing in a wide range of home improvements and meet with local mayors and city staff members.  It’s a great opportunity to talk with city building department representatives to find answers to questions about your home improvement projects.
